Welcome to the blog for Social Studies at Cleveland State University!  This space connects Social Studies majors and pre-service teachers at CSU to the wider community of Social Studies educators in Northeast Ohio.  Each section, from event announcements to local Teacher Spotlights, will foster conversations on historical thinking, pedagogy and content that extend beyond of the walls of each individual classroom.
Social Studies @ CSU, in collaboration with the CPHDH, received generous support from the CSU Office of Research  for the 2015 Undergraduate Summer Research Project “History Speaks: Using Oral Histories to Teach Historical Thinking.”  Undergraduate research assistants Victoria McDonough and Christopher Morris will publish a series of essays on this blog and curate oral history interviews for use in the classroom at http://historyspeaks.clevelandhistory.org/.  Be sure to check out their research poster on September 3, 2015 in the Student Center from 10-2.
In 2014 Social Studies @ CSU also received generous support from the CSU Office of Research for the series “Connecting Historical Thinking and Technology.”  Visit the posts by undergraduate research assistant Victoria McDonough.
