Have you ever wanted to travel to Egypt to see the pyramids, or Saudi Arabia to see the Great Mosque of Mecca? What about the Wahiba Sands in Oman? Here’s your opportunity!

On Tuesday April 2, 2019 from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the Cleveland State University Student Center Ballroom (2121 Euclid Avenue) stop by to take a tour of the world. Although you won’t be able to feel the sand between your toes, we will ask you to take off your shoes as Dr. Stephen Cory guides you across this beautiful region while providing you with interesting historical insights. Bring your smart phones or any other device that can read QR Codes so you can learn even more!

Come join CSU’s History Department and the Department of Middle Eastern Studies as we embark on our journey by walking on large laminated tactical pilotage charts, each at a scale of 1:500,000 (eight miles to the inch) and measuring approx. 3½ x 5 feet. The maps show cities and towns as well as principal roads, railroads, rivers, bodies of water, distinctive landmarks, spot elevations, contours, elevations tints, and stream-drainage patterns.
