Attention SST & HIS majors!
The Aspire Program in Shaker Heights is hiring for Summer 2016. This is a great opportunity to get more teaching experience- see the announcement below for details:
From Hathaway Brown:
The Aspire Program at Hathaway Brown School in Shaker Heights, Ohio is a summer academic enrichment and leadership development program for middle school girls in grades six, seven and eight.
Each summer, we hire twelve students from colleges and universities across the country to serve as Core Academic Teachers (CTs) in our program.
Core Academic Teachers (CTs) are college students who are interested in education. You do not have to be an education major to teach at Aspire! You simply have to have a passion for working with young people and a desire to have a positive impact on the future of education!
Each CT teaches an academic class and an elective workshop for five-weeks. Through the guidance and support of a mentor teacher, CTs develop their own curriculum around the given class theme as well as a curriculum for an elective workshop of their choice. Through our daily faculty meetings, young teachers will have the opportunity to participate in professional development workshops and learn about the daily lives of teachers.
Candidates for the CT position must be available to work from June 15, 2016-July 29, 2016. This is a paid position with stipends starting at $2,000.
Interested candidates can visit our website to download an application: http://www.hb.edu/page.cfm?p=1853
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us using the information below. We very much appreciate your partnership and look forward to working with the students at your school.
Sincerely,
